In the heart of a bright and hopeful little village called Melkomia, where the morning sun paints the rooftops gold and laughter rises like incense smoke, lives a wide-eyed girl with braided hair and a heart full of wonder. Her name is Peeboo — and she is Melkomia’s Story Discoverer.

Peeboo is no ordinary child. Wrapped in soft Habesha fabrics woven with African colors and patterns, she carries the warmth of home and the courage of curiosity wherever she goes. She loves to explore, to ask questions, and to discover the magic hidden in ordinary moments.

Her constant companion — and occasional headache — is Keyo, the clever Ethiopian wolf. Keyo is quick-witted, dramatic, fiercely loyal, and never shy about sharing his opinions. He and Peeboo spend most days together: running through the grassy fields, debating everything from riddles to responsibilities, arguing about who’s right (usually Peeboo… but don’t tell Keyo), and preparing themselves emotionally for whatever new story the day will bring.

But the heart of Melkomia — the place where every story begins — is Luma, the warm, chubby, mother-like tree who stands at the center of the village. With roots that glow softly beneath the soil and branches that sway like they’re comforting you, Luma carries the memories of generations. Every root holds a story. Every leaf carries a whisper. And every breeze through her branches is a lesson waiting to be understood.

Completing their trio is Lilo, the bright Abyssinian lovebird. Lilo flits from branch to branch, greeting the many migrating birds who pass over Melkomia on their long journeys across continents. These travelers — cranes, storks, swallows, wagtails and tiny wanderers from lands far beyond the hills — rest in Luma’s shade and share the stories they’ve gathered from deserts, forests, oceans, and mountains.

And that is where Peeboo’s magic begins.

When a new story arrives, Peeboo and Keyo hurry to Luma, sometimes still mid-argument, sometimes breathless with excitement. Luma listens to the bird’s tale, her leaves glowing softly. Then, with a warm rustle, she offers the story to Peeboo and Keyo.

Peeboo kneels beside Luma and places her hand on a glowing root — a sacred gesture that connects her to her heritage, her identity, her ancestors, and the deep wisdom of the earth itself. Luma then lowers a single shimmering leaf. Peeboo gently rubs the leaf between her fingers, and the world around her begins to shift.

Colors swirl.

Winds hum.

Light dances.

And with a sudden hush — she enters the story.

Keyo jumps in right behind her — sometimes bravely, sometimes reluctantly, and sometimes still arguing. Together, they step into the heart of the tale, learning, exploring, stumbling, laughing, and always discovering the meaning hidden beneath the adventure.

When the journey ends, Peeboo and Keyo return to Melkomia — wiser, closer, and usually still teasing each other about what just happened.

Luma smiles through her rustling leaves.

Lilo chirps excitedly.

And the whole village gathers as Peeboo shares what she has learned.

Welcome to Melkomia — a place where roots carry memories, leaves whisper wisdom, migrating birds deliver stories from across the world, and a little girl named Peeboo reminds us that the greatest adventures begin with curiosity… and a very opinionated wolf named Keyo.

This is only the beginning.
